The Škocjan bay is the largest semi-saline wetland in Slovenia.

The Škocjan bay is a 122-hectare nature reserve, an ecologically important area, a special protection area (Natura 2000 area) and a botanical, zoological and ecosystem natural value. It is considered the largest semi-saline wetland in Slovenia.

While visiting the location, we noticed that there are NO visitors there, only local guests in the bar in the office building. When we asked the representatives of the park, they told us that they pride themselves on the fact that no visitors come to see the park ???

Even when we asked them for promotional material to post on our pages, we had to wait 2 months, saying they were too busy with “projects”. In reality, no one needs “projects” except the park managers to get money from the state for their salaries.
